You finally gathered up the money for that fancy iPhone 11 and now need to find a good case to protect your investment. Whereas the technology for 50% of a phone drop has been perfected (gravity now works 100% of the time), the remaining half is a total failure: phones just go “crunch”, not “boing”, and do not seem to bounce very far back up into the air.

Therefore, a good case is a must-have. While you are at it, you might as well find one that will also protect your noggin from EMF as well.

The majority of cases in our list are made from polyurethane or similar artificial materials, variously termed “vegan leather” or “faux leather”. We guess this is mainly because of the PETA crowd and the fact that the drop rate for leather on cows is only like 0-2 (We are talking about Minecraft here, right? No? Uhhh, ok… back to the review).

For nearly all cases reviewed here, we found no negative comments that were worthy of being a critical assessment. For flip-style cases, many independent tests by users with their handy EMF meters were performed with the cases open and not closed as designed.

Shielding for flip-style cases is only on the front cover and is meant to cover the phone during calls. Like Skeeter Davis sang, “there’s a fool born every minute”.

Here we have provided our picks for the best iPhone 11 cases on the market in 2020. These cases are well-made, durable, reasonably priced, and effective at blocking EMF as verified by laboratory testing.

Our iPhone 11 EMF Cases Reviews and Comparisons

1. Gadget Guard Anti-Radiation Rugged

Product Highlights

The Gadget Guard iPhone case is termed rugged because the case is made from durable hard rubber. Uses ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable), which is a unique technology that uses an antenna at the rear of the case to redirect the electromagnetic radiation out of the back of the phone.

The ALARA technology was originally developed by a company named Pong that was rebranded to Brink. Gadget Guard is now apparently licensing the technology from Brink.

The antenna system works differently than EMF shields and can redirect about 75% of the EMF away from the user. All this is accomplished without the need for a flap inserted between the user and the phone, which makes the Gadget Guard case easier to use.

Features

  • Reduces 75% of EMF
  • ALARA technology
  • Hard rubber case for shock protection
  • Sleek design

What We Like About Gadget Guard Anti-Radiation Rugged

For people who hate flip-style wallet cases, this is a great option. The case is sleek, modern looking, and also made of a shock-proof material capable of protecting the phone up to a 10-foot fall.

The case design is also well-made for the iPhone 11 and has properly sized cutouts for the camera lenses. Users like the fact that the case is not slippery and they can maintain a firm grip, even in damp weather.

What We Don’t Like About Gadget Guard Anti-Radiation Rugged

Some users have complained that the button openings do not line up properly and that the phone cannot be used with the case on. This has not been reported by most users and we suspect they bought the wrong case (there are several iPhone 11 models in addition to the regular model reviewed here: Pro, Pro Max, and XR).

PROS

  • Slim, modern look
  • ALARA technology
  • Blocks 75% of EMF
  • Shock-resistant

CONS

  • None really (just make sure you order the correct model)

2. DefenderShield iPhone 11 EMF Case

Product Highlights

The DefenderShield case is a flip-style, wallet case with a built-in detachable 3-card wallet that includes RFID shielding. The EMF shielding material is incorporated into the outer flap (front cover), which is meant to be closed over the phone during calls.

The shielding material is made from multiple layers of metal sheeting and the case material is vegan leather (polyurethane) and comes in three colors: black, grey, and purple. The case has been laboratory-tested to block up to 99% of EMF at frequencies through the 5G range and also 98.25% of extra-low frequency (ELF) signals.

Features

  • Blocks 99% EMF
  • Vegan leather case in three colors
  • Detachable 3-card wallet
  • Wrist strap

What We Like About DefenderShield iPhone 11 EMF Case

This is a very popular EMF phone case for many reasons. For one, it is quite effective at blocking EMF and has been verified through an independent laboratory.

The second reason is the build quality, including nice extras like a detachable wallet. The third reason is DefenderShield’s excellent customer service if something goes wrong.

What We Don’t Like About DefenderShield iPhone 11 EMF Case

Interferes with wireless chargers (if it blocks EMF, it should). Also, some users claim it does not work, but they submitted photos of them testing the case with the flap folded behind the phone (it should cover the phone during use).

PROS

  • EMF effectively blocked (99%)
  • Three colors to choose from
  • Wallet detaches
  • Wrist strap

CONS

  • None (only complaints by clueless users)

3. RadiArmor Anti-Radiation Case

Product Highlights

The RadiArmor case is another flip-style phone case with a magnetic closure strap and is made of vegan leather (polyurethane) in three different colors: red, slate, and teal. The shielding material is a metal liner that blocks 99% of EMF in lab tests and 91% of EMF in field tests during calls.

The inner portion of the flap features a 3-card wallet with a large pocket for bills. The new RadiArmor cases have also been redesigned with TPU (thermoplastic urethane) corners for added shock protection if the phone is dropped.

The RadiArmor case, as with other flip-style cases, is intended to be used closed during calls for proper protection. The back of the case also has a hinge which allows the phone to be propped up in landscape orientation during calls.

Features

  • Blocks 99% EMF (91% in practice)
  • Three colors
  • Wallet for 3-cards
  • TPU anti-shock corners

What We Like About RadiArmor Anti-Radiation Case

Nearly all users like their RadiArmor cases. One common comment, though not the reason for the case, to begin with, is that having it closed during calls is more comfortable on the face by shielding the hot phone from the user’s cheek.

The wallet is a great convenience feature that allows users to ditch their purses while traveling about town.

What We Don’t Like About RadiArmor Anti-Radiation Case

Some users claim the bill pocket is too small (it is made to fit US money) and also complain that the shielding is only on one side of the phone. However, that is the point since two sides would interfere with calls.

PROS

  • Great build quality
  • Blocks 91% EMF
  • The wallet is in the flap
  • Corner bumpers

CONS

  • Bill pocket may be too small for some currencies

4. SafeSleeve EMF Protection Case

Product Highlights

The SafeSleeve case comes in four colors (black, grey, tan, and red) and is made from good ol’ dead cows (Nah, just kidding. It’s “vegan leather”). It is a flip-style case with a magnetic strap closure where the shielding material is built into the flap which is supposed to be closed during calls.

This case has a hinge on the case back that partially folds, allowing the phone to be propped up in landscape orientation for calls or video viewing. The inner portion of the flap also has a 3-card wallet with a bill pocket.

Features

  • Blocks 99% of EMF
  • Comes in 4 colors
  • Wallet for 3 cards and a bill pocket
  • Can act as a stand

What We Like About SafeSleeve EMF Protection Case

Many users comment on the build quality and durability of the SafeSleeve case. They have also (properly) field-tested the claims for EMF protection and have verified that the case blocks 93-99% of EMF during calls.

The case also seems to protect the phone well if dropped.

What We Don’t Like About SafeSleeve EMF Protection Case

Some users claim that the case does not properly fit their phone (there are 4 models of iPhone 11: be sure to order the correct case for your model). Other users have tested the case and claim it does not work, but testing was done with the phone open (the shielding is not a magical talisman, it’s a “shield”).

PROS

  • Blocks 99% of EMF
  • Comes in 4 colors
  • Can act as a phone stand
  • Three-card wallet

CONS

  • None

5. VEST Anti-Radiation Wallet Case

Product Highlights

The Anti-Radiation phone case by VEST is another of the popular flip-style cases and is made with a double layer of shielding in the front cover, an aluminum foil laminate, and an aluminum mesh layer. The case is made from faux leather (faux must be some exotic species of bovine) and comes in four colors, black, black carbon fiber (which is textured), blue, and rose gold.

The inside of the cover has a 3-card wallet with a bill pocket and the case as a strap with a magnetic clasp to keep it closed. Also, the back case has a hinge which allows the phone to be propped up for videos.

Features

  • Blocks 98% of EMF
  • Wallet for 3 cards and bills
  • Comes in 4 colors
  • RFID layer for credit cards

What We Like About VEST Anti-Radiation Wallet Case

The case material looks like actual leather, despite being made of artificial materials. Build quality is great and the stand feature works well.

What We Don’t Like About VEST Anti-Radiation Wallet Case

We could find no negative review comments.

PROS

  • Excellent build quality
  • Looks like real leather
  • Four colors
  • Built-in wallet

CONS

  • None

6. Waves Protect iPhone 11 Case

Product Highlights

The Waves Protect case is a flip-style case that comes in two colors (black or red) and is made from genuine Italian leather (it’s either made from cows or Italians; we’re unsure). The case back is a rubberized plastic for a sure grip and the shielding material is built into the front cover, which can shield 96% of EMF in laboratory tests.

Inside the front cover is a card slot for a single credit card or a short stack (…with eggs, sausages, and orange juice? Eh, never mind). Behind where the phone mounts is a convenient pocket for storing an additional SIM card, so this case is perfect for international travel (there is also a SIM pin tool pocket).

Features

  • Blocks 96% of EMF
  • Great look, real leather
  • Card wallet
  • Extra SIM card storage plus storage for SIM pin tool

What We Like About Waves Protect iPhone 11 Case

This case feels good in the hand, does not cause the phone to heat up during long calls, and is very thin for an EMF case (only adds 1.2 mm of thickness to the phone, overall).

What We Don’t Like About Waves Protect iPhone 11 Case

We could find no negative reviews of this case

PROS

  • Can block 96% of EMF
  • Carry an extra SIM card and tool
  • Made from real leather

CONS

  • None (unless you don’t like leather)

7. TAGCMC Radiation Protection Case

Product Highlights

Our last selection on this list is a really modern-looking, kind of space-age EMF case made by TAGCMC. The case is a black and grey polycarbonate shell with TPU (thermoplastic urethane) and is a slide-cover design.

Shielding material is inside of the front cover, which like flip-style covers is meant to be closed during calls. For those of you opposed to the slaughter of real or faux bovines, this is an excellent alternative.

On the inside of the front cover is a slot to hold a credit card. Venting in the plastic cover, which allows you to hear and speak during calls, contains shielding mesh material that acts as an open Faraday cage for EMF protection (99% of EMF is shielded).

In addition to all these features, the case has a black “energy ring” of obsidian that TAGCMC claims to cleanse negative energies.

Features

  • Blocks 99% of EMF
  • Durable polycarbonate shell
  • TPU edges for shock-proofing
  • Obsidian energy ring

What We Like About TAGCMC Radiation Protection Case

Many users love the space-age look of the case. The obsidian ring is a nice aesthetic addition (whether it cleanses negative energies is another matter, but it looks cool).

What We Don’t Like About TAGCMC Radiation Protection Case

Card slot only holds one card

PROS

  • Tough case
  • Blocks 99% of EMF
  • Obsidian energy ring

CONS

  • Only holds one card

FINAL VERDICT

For build quality and dependability, we lean towards the DefenderShield phone case. To be completely honest, that decision is merely a personal preference because we like a lot of other DefenderShield products and has nothing at all to do with it being better than other cases on this list.

For those who just don’t like flip cases, the Gadget Guard case is fantastic. No fuss, works great (75% of EMF), and also has excellent shock resistance.
